HTC adds 3.5mm headphone jack to Touch Pro2

I think most of us can agree that we don’t like it when phone makers use proprietary or other than standard connectors on devices like mobile phones. One of the things I dislike most is when a phone maker puts a smaller or larger than standard headphone jack on a device so I can’t connect other headphones to it.

Our sister site SlashGear has said before that the Touch Pro2 is a good device, but lamented the fact that HTC opted to not put a 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone. That issue has been fixed, at least for the version that will be hitting the Canadian provider Telus.

Down by the ExtUSB port the device now gets a normal 3.5mm headphone jack for listening to music and phone calls. Other than the headphone jack and a CDMA radio, the handset is the same as all other Touch Pro2 devices already on the market.

not quite the same, it has a CDMA radio as well as a quad-band GMS\EDGE and dual band (possibly tri-band) UMTS radio
