Oh the Internet is alive with rumors today, folks! In fact, now we’re hearing that the HTC Dream, which is believed to be the handset to first get Android, will cost $200 with a contract.

That’s all we know so far. This may or may not take into account rebates. At this point, we just don’t know. What we do know, however, is this price is very reasonable and in a way, seems almost too good to be true.

But, it would make sense to keep the price low to stay competitive with other smartphones on the market right now. If T-Mobile and HTC have agreed on this price tag, the idea of people dropping their current carriers and handsets for this slick new touch-slider is all together possible.
