Yesterday marked the official unveiling of the HTC Hero Android smartphone. Today we are going to sum up the Hero and its list of features from the myriad of posts on the phone. Sometimes what you really need is a video of a device in action to get the full picture, our sister site SlashGear has just such a video — 15 minutes of video to be exact.

We know that Flash is coming to the Android and other platforms in October, the Hero will ship with Flash support for Android. One of the features that helps set the Hero apart form other Android devices is the Sense UI that overlays Android. The UI integrates social networking services like Twitter and Facebook along with Flickr onto the home screen of the device.

The Sense UI is based on the principals “make it mine, stay close, and discover the unexpected.” SlashGear also spent some hands on time with the Hero, which is a very sexy handset. I particularly like the angled bottom for more comfort when holding the phone against your face. SG reports that the Hero feels slimmer than the Magic. The device also has a Teflon coating to help prevent smudges.
