HTC Magic hits FCC, but where’s the AWS?

It is yet to be determined whether the new version of the Sapphire, after passing through the FCC recently will rock T-Mobile’s 1700MHz AWS for the US 3G Network. Engadget Mobile suggests HTC Magic (SAPP100) will follow in the footsteps of G1 rolling through with multiple versions.

At this point, there will be at least two versions of the phone circulating the market worldwide with connections available through GSM/WCDMA, WiFi / Bluetooth and GPS. Development and testing of the phone has been extremely thorough with functional compliance through a range of temperatures passing all requirements of the FCC. Vodafone Customers will be able to use this handset with 2100MHz HSDPA in addition to the usual range of GSM / EDGE bands.

To look at the European model of the HTC Magic, it is designed to make an impression. Boasting functions including a 3.2-inch touch-sensitive screen with HVGA (320 X 480 pixel) resolution, video recording through a 3.2 megapixel color camera with auto focus. Searching online and Google Maps Street View are available over a High-speed network connection. With internal memory of 512MB ROM and 192MB RAM, the phone also comes with a microSD (SD 2.0 compatible) expansion slot.
