Should the HTC Magnum ever see the light of day, and you do decide to buy it, you’re going to get your money’s worth – every single penny. Surely this has to be some sort of an internal prototype cooked up in the labs as a proof of concept for future products. So this begs the question, is HTC getting into the business of making tablet pc now?

Pocketpt.net claimed to have had an opportunity to speak with head honchos over at HTC and scored some major exclusive videos and images about the HTC Magnum tablet running Windows Mobile. The site reports that the Magnum is scheduled for public release by the end of this year or early 2009.

The HTC Magnum will feature an 11-inch OLED touchscreen display with 65k colors, powered by the 800MHz Marvell processor, has an 80GB HDD, 2GB of ROM, and 512MB of RAM (it’s possible the site meant to say 512MB of ROM and 2GB of RAM – yes?), weighing at 1.6lb, with all the wireless connectivity such as WiFi, WiMAX, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, HSDPA 7.2MB/s and a battery life of 30 hours.

[UPDATE - What a sweet prank! NOTE: HTC Magnum is NOT REAL. ]

It has to be a demo unit – something to show off interfaces like TouchFLO to large groups of people. I can’t believe they’d make – or that there’s a market for – something like that!

  3. If this is a viral marketing ploy from HTC — it’s brilliant! Mobile World Congress is coming up, what a great idea to draw attention to the company.

Hellow?? People? This is NOT real, I’m an Administrator @ PocketPT.net where this “device” surfaced and I can assure you that there is NO SUCH DEVICE!!!

This is a TFT HP monitor connected to the VGA output port of an X7500! ;)

that is infact not the device you are talking about pedro. the one in your picture is running on a hp monitor, a peice of technology that lacks touch technology, this is a touch screen display. nice try.
