The HTC Touch HD burst onto the scene today taking us all by surprise. To be the next Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro smartphone, the Touch HD looks to be fantastic, namely because of that gorgeous WVGA touchscreen display.

The device measures 115mm x 62.8mm x 12mm, which is super compact and sports HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. GPS is also included for a fuller experience. Navigation on the Touch HD is entirely stylus based. No D-pad, scroll wheel or anything. With the exception of a few hardware controls, this device relies entirely on its touchscreen.

Based on Qualcomm’s 528MHz 7201A CPU with 512MB ROM and 256 RAM, this device can fly. A 5-megapixel camera is also built in as is a microSD slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 1350mAH battery. The HTC Touch HD is expected to drop by Christmas but we don’t know anything for sure yet. We’ll be sure to keep you posted!
