I’m about to get cranky, folks. First, we learned the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic wouldn’t be coming to the US until next year and now we won’t be getting the HTC Touch HD at all. That’s right. It won’t ever come to the US!
Apparently, this touch-based HD phone we’ve all been eyeing won’t be getting a US release because there are engineering issues with support for 3G HSDPA and HSUPA bands. And they can’t develop a special US version of the phone because the handset would be obsolete by the time it was ready for shipment.
HTC did have the Touch HD put through the FCC though. So the device can be imported to the US, if you wish. However, there won’t be high-speed Internet access and with a beautiful screen like that, it’s really quite a shame.

HTC, I am hugely disappointed that you leave us stuck with the phones we have. This would be the first option of a touch phone with a bigger screen for guys like me with big hands. I have been having HTC phones now for years, but you know what? It is time to switch.
Sometimes I have he feeling Apple is paying other companies like HTC so we are stuck with the iPhone. That sucks like hell!
HUGELY DISAPPOINTED HTC
