HTC have flooded their YouTube channel with new promo videos of the Touch Diamond.  The footage demonstrates the new TouchFLO 3D GUI, which is a three-dimensional version of the original TouchFLO found on previous HTC smartphones.  They show that the interface extends to many different areas of the smartphone’s functionality, including the CoverFlow-style album cover browsing, video and photo navigation and even the contacts list.

The Touch Diamond is a GSM 7.2Mbps HSDPA/HSUPA smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.1.  It has a VGA display, 3.1-megapixel camera and relies on an on-screen keyboard rather than a slide-out hardware version.  HTC have also developed their own mobile YouTube app, and re-skinned Opera 9 rather than use the upcoming Mobile Internet Explorer 6.1.

The browser supports zooming using the navigation pad, and also rotating thanks to the accelerometer.  The date of availability for the device will be June for Europe and Asia, with more markets to follow later in the year. The price of the device was not mentioned during the press event.  Keep reading PHONE Magazine for more details throughout the day!
