One thing that many iPhone users have been calling for is more storage space. With the proliferation of games and other free and paid apps for the iPhone along with music and video, storage on the iPhone can become scarce quickly.

Engadget reports that a source has told it that iPhones have been approved by the PCS Type Review Certification Board in capacities of 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. The 8GB and 16GB offerings are certainly no surprise, we have had those for a long time now. The 4GB is a bit of a surprise, that capacity went the way of the Dodo shortly after the original iPhone was launched.

As for the 32GB capacity, the iPod touch has offered that much storage for a while so getting a 32GB iPhone at some point was a given. The PCS Type Review Certification Board is the standards body that certifies handsets for use with some carriers like AT&T. If this is a legitimate source that could mean all the rumors of a new iPhone coming soon look a bit stronger. A 4GB iPhone could be a device selling at that magic $99 number that will lure even more to the iPhone.
