LG had given the game away that it was launching the KF700 and KF600 at the Mobile World Congress, but we now know a bit more about what’s inside the two touchscreen handsets. With a sliding alpha-numeric keyboard at the bottom, a 3-inch touch-sensitive display and a scroll-wheel mounted on the back, LG are keen to highlight the variety of input methods on the K700; they’re also positioning it as a multimedia device, with a wide-aspect display ideal for mobile movies.

We’ll have to wait until a hands-on play with the KF700 to see if the web browser is up to scratch, and to see just how “high resolution” the display really is. Meanwhile, the LG KF600 uses two-displays, one a normal screen and the other a smaller touchscreen on which context-specific menu options are displayed; LG call the technology InteractPad, and you might recognise it from the company’s Venus handset for Verizon (or, indeed, the Samsung U900 Soul). The KF600 has a 3 megapixel camera, MP3 player and video recorder, and apparently won a 2008 iF Product Design Award.
LG’s new range bottoms out with the KF510, a basic fashion phone with a tempered-glass covered, light-sensor equipped display. The KF510’s camera is capable of recording QVGA video, and is ready to take photos one second after hitting the camera shortcut; LG have added image stabilisation, and LED flash and red-eye reduction.
