From March 15th, anybody looking to control a home automation system via their cellphone will be able to do so, just as long as they pick a system by HA specialists Lagotek.  Compatible with “most modern cellphones”, including BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphones, the Wireless Home Intelligence Platform (HIP) system connects to your handset via the internet to give control of lighting, climate and preset macros, as well as view live video from CCTV cameras.

Lagotek made headlines earlier this year with their iPhone & iPod Touch software that bridged Windows Sideshow gadgets onto the Apple devices.  This latest development extends that functionality, with both local and remote control of the whole-house systems.  It will also send automatic alerts to the cellphone should particular criteria be met; e.g. a certain door opened, a temperature drop or a security breach.

The Wireless HIP system will be available from authorised Lagotek home-automation dealers.
