At a Singapore press event for their KS20 touchscreen cellphone (shown here), an LG representative told reporters that the company is planning to release “a new PDA-phone with an updated OS” either at the end of this year or early in 2009. Given the KS20’s Windows Mobile 6 OS, it seems reasonable to presume that the new smartphone will feature either WM 6.1 or, depending on its release date, Windows Mobile 7.

LG has only recently been included in the list of Windows Mobile licensees, with the KS20 being the first device from the manufacturer to ship with the Microsoft OS. Loosely based on the PRADA, the handset has HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2.8-inch touchscreen.
No further details regarding the upcoming handset are known, but it will presumably use the touchscreen Pro version of Windows Mobile.

LG is an erupting danger for Sony Ericsson, Samsung and Motorola in particular. In smart phone market, it needs to go extra mile to gain some reasonable share.
