Just as we’ve been expecting, LG has announced their Renoir phone that keeps up with the megapixel race in camera phones, bringing 8 megapixels on board, much like the Samsung Pixon.

The LG Renoir features a touchscreen and has a UI much like that of the Viewty. It also sports the much-talked about 8 megapixel camera, which by all indications makes for super clear pictures and convenient point and shoot usability.

However, the phone lacks the standard 3.5mm headphone jack in lieu of one of those USB plug-in thingys. Even so, the LG Renoir is set up to be a real touchscreen competitor adding another option to the long list of what is soon to hit the global market. It’s an interesting time for touchscreen phones, to say the least.
