While we knew it was coming, the exact release date and price of LG’s Scoop (aka Rumor) on the Alltel network was a mystery until today.  Priced at $59.99 thanks to a $40 mail-in rebate, the QWERTY-equipped slider is available today in three colours - orange, blue and slate - and comes with AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger preinstalled.

The Scoop also has a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, email app, a music and video capable media player and support for microSD cards up to 4GB in size.

A renamed version of the LG Rumor for Sprint, the Scoop is also “GPS capable”, weighs 4.2oz and measures 2 x 4.33 x 0.7-inches.  Battery life is quoted at up to 180 minutes talktime or up to 140 hours standby.
