One of the most anticipated mobile technologies coming is LTE or 4G service. I can only hope that LTE will be offered outside of major markets, unlike WiMax availability in America.

A new study from Forward Concepts has been released that looks at several different aspects of the mobile market. The study reports that cell phone growth is expected to decline by 4.4% in 2009, but growth of 12.8% is expected in 2010.

Despite the decline in cell phone shipments, smartphone shipments are expected to grow by 25% and feature phones will grow by 4.4%. LTE is expected to make a big splash starting in 2010 with LTE dongles coming to market first. Over the following three years, the number of LTE handsets on the market will grow rapidly to 56 million by 2013.
