Microsoft is getting set to hit the market with its next round of Windows Mobile devices. The new batch of mobile phones is set to hit the market on October 6 according to Microsoft and will be known as Windows Phones.

The devices will all run Windows Mobile 6.5 and in the U.S. carriers offering the devices will include AT&T and Verizon. Phones will be offered from HTC, LG, and Samsung. The new Windows Phones will offer tight social networking integration and access to the Windows Mobile Marketplace to buy apps.

The cool part about the Microsoft app store is that it allows users to return apps they buy and don’t like. AT&T will also begin providing Windows Mobile users with free Wi-Fi access just like they do for the iPhone and Blackberry.
