It looks like Verizon isn’t the only carrier that will soon get to enjoy a mobile hotspot on their network. In fact, Sprint just announced today that they will soon offer the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 “Intelligent Mobile Hotspot” on their carrier as well.

The Sprint version will work much as the Verizon one. An EVDO Rev.A connection will be shared through the device, allowing up to five users or devices to utilize it. One thing that marks a difference from Verizon, however, is a GPS function, which allows for mapping and services based on your current location.
Other specs include a a 40-hours standby/4-hours in-use battery and support for WEP and WPA2-PSK encryption. A SPI Firewall is included as well. You can expect the MiFi 2200 to launch on Sprint at the beginning of June for $99.99. This price is good after a $50 mail-in rebate and signing up for a service plan which include a $59.99/month plan that offers 5GB a month and a $149.99/month plan called the Simply Everything Plan + Mobile Broadband that offers 5GB of data plus phone service. However, both plans charge a $0.05/MB overage charge.
