iPhone, Google and Palm are all offering applications for your every day smartphone. By 2013, it is expected that 100 million users will be buying, downloading and utilizing these little wonders.

David Chamberlain, a principal analyst with In-Stat notes the number of users accessing mobile applications stores with their smartphones to increase four-fold by 2013. This is set to increase with Google calling on third-party developers to embrace its Android smartphone and Palm with its highly anticipated Palm Pre smartphone set to debut this summer.
By 2013, a fraction of the 100 million users with the capability to access mobile applications stores will be Apple iPhones. Whether money can be made from applications has the potential to change as more are being offered free, hoping for cash through advertising. The number of users increasing, applications available also increasing with extreme levels of competition, I can only think, what will I download today? Furthermore, I’m trying to think of an app to make that hasn’t been done yet. This seems the harder task.
