Here we go again. Engadget got some more slides from their source with AT&T. This time, it’s LG’s turn. The Herald is a 20-key SureType smartphone, featuring triband 3G, a 2 megapixel cam, microSD expansion up to 16GB, Windows Mobile 6.1, 320 x 240 and a non-touch display. July 6th is the target date for this one, which is tentative.

With so many leaks from AT&T, I feel it’s starting to become a bit counterproductive. Initially, it was presumed that the leaks were to draw attention away from other carriers and phones such as the upcoming Palm Pre. Now though, it’s starting to confuse the consumer base. This launch of the LG Herald will conflict potentially with the just-released Jack. The announcement of new devices could potentially cannibalize their own sales. Consumers don’t want to drop $200 on a new device if an even better one is coming in a few shorty months.
Whoever is leaking these slides, we enjoy the news and information, but I’m sure AT&T is getting a little upset right about now. Knowing what phones are coming around the corner is only going to hurt AT&T current phone sales. Of course, I’m sure the rumored next iPhone is doing that well enough already.
