We’ve another chapter in the Motorola saga, with Chief Marketing Officer Kenneth “Casey” Keller leaving the company at the end of February; the cellphone maker does not make clear whether Keller left of his own volition or was jettisoned as part of the ongoing operational changes. Rather than seeking a new CMO, existing Motorola employees Eduardo Conrado and Jeremy Dale, who were formerly Keller’s deputies in marketing business-to-business and mobile devices respectively, will now be reporting directly to the presidents of their divisions.
“Marketing is vital to Motorola, and this restructuring will ensure that our marketing efforts are even more closely aligned with our businesses” Motorola statement
The change is just another in a series of company shake-ups, which saw Chief Financial Officer Tom Meredith replaced by ex-private equity Paul Liska last month.
Motorola’s shares rose by a single cent to $10.03; market analysts have recently downgraded their expectations of company performance to “perform”, citing falling demand for Motorola handsets.
