mSpot launches streaming movie rentals on all major carriers

I have a commute of a few seconds each morning from my bed to the chair in my home office. Mobile content to get my day started isn’t a big deal for me, but for those with long commutes on public transportation it is a big deal. If you are an avid watcher of movies on your mobile phone, mSpot has announced its Mobile Movies service is now available.

The service is launching initially with support for 30 different handsets including the iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, and Windows Mobile. Several feature phones will support the service as well. Films are rented with a credit card.

The movies don’t have to download before they can be viewed and are watched directly in the devices browser. Each film offered on the service has 18 versions with different aspect ratios and codex versions for the best viewing experience. The films cost $4.99 to rent for 72 hours.

  1. This is pretty cool. Yeah if you gotta along commute on public transportation, nothing like a good movie to get you through to your destination. Just make sure you don’t miss your exit from getting wrapped up in the movie, lol.
