A good mystery is always exciting in the build up to a manufacturer’s event, and this could just be HTC’s conundrum. As the May 6th HTC event in London draws closer, this image of some of the company’s existing smartphones turned up on the mobile-review forums. Thing is, while five of the devices in the image are easily identified, three look to be as-yet unannounced models.

In the top row, left to right, there’s the TyTn II, TyTn II, Touch Cruise and Touch, while in the bottom row only the second handset in, the P3470, is currently known. Of course, there’s no telling whether the image is fake or real (and it’s blown up from the considerably smaller version you can see to the right), or if this is just some prototype or development handset HTC used for testing. In fact, depending on how the image is lit, all three unidentified smartphones could in fact be the same model – all with a zero-profile D-pad (or possibly a scroll wheel) and four buttons – with different reflections off the glossy screen surround.
There’s also discussion over in the forums about whether each of the devices have the full QWERTY slide-out, or if that could be another differentiating factor, too. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that once they’ve started leaks tend to keep leaking prior to a new launch. PHONE Mag will be there on May 6th to bring you all the hot news from HTC!

I hope the Android Dream isn’t one of them. A huge touchscreen with a slideout qwerty (preferably front Treo-like keypad) will do for me.
