The problem with many mobile phones for people who need to travel out of their home country is that the phone doesn’t support foreign networks. That means if you travel form the U.S. to Europe for instance, your phone probably won’t work leaving you unable to stay connected.

A new phone called the Duet travel phone has been announced by National Geographic and Cellular Abroad. The device has dual SIM card slots and is compatible with a pre-paid international SIM card carrying the National Geographic logo or any other international SIM card.

The dual SIM card slots means the phone can be used on multiple networks without changing cards each time. There are no concrete specifications available for the Duet, but the manufacturer says it will work in more than 185 countries around the world. The device is available now for $199 with an International SIM card offering 30 minutes of talk time.
