The Beta version of a new ROM for Sprint’s Mogul has found its way onto the internet.  This new ROM packs some new functionality that Mogul owners have not doubt been waiting for. Before you go about getting yourself prepared for this ROM, it is important to not that it is not official. It is not supported by Sprint or HTC, and you could very well harm your device.

First up on the list of new features is Sprint TV. Sprint TV allows user to watch video clips of TV shows, movie trailers, and even some exclusive content. The HTC Touch has had this service since launch, but the Mogul was mysteriously absent of this ability, which was peculiar considering many of Sprint’s non smart devices had this service. No matter now, as it is finally here.

Next up is Windows Mobile 6.1. The update was promised by Sprint, and it seems it will indeed make its way to the Mogul soon. Windows Mobile 6.1 offers a number of improvements over Windows Mobile 6, and has been much anticipated. The new ROM is available here. Please be careful and if you are not sure what you are doing it is recommended you wait for an official release from HTC and Sprint.

Sprint’s special features like EV-DO Rev.0 are fast, but loading Web pages really depends more on the processing power platform than the connection on these types of phones.

  2. Christopher Price says:

Sprint TV does a bit more than just video clips… it supports several live TV channels, a few are included free even with the basic data plan.
