A new Sidekick has just cleared the FCC and all the rigorous tests that go along with it. It is not clear if this is the Sidekick Gekko/Aspen that we heard rumors about earlier. The device sports a new model number, PV210. This can help us safely rule out that the device is just a new color to a current Sidekick, or other small variance of that nature.

As usual, the FCC does not reveal much about the device. They do however reveal what frequencies and technologies the device uses. I am sorry to say guys, that no, this model does not sport 3G. It seems for now, a 3G Sidekick will remain the stuff of legends. A shame too, as the device with its glorious screen and keyboard is ripe for ripping through some data.

The device has not been announced by Sharp or T-Mobile, but the fact it cleared the FCC means it is probably getting close. The Gekko was rumored to be coming out this summer, so this could be it. We will be keeping our eyes out for this one, and when we know, you will know.
