We’ve been hearing about the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic a lot lately. Namely, because it is to be a prime iPhone competitor and will feature a touchscreen. Many people can’t wait to get their hands on this one. But now we’ve learned we won’t be getting this one until after Christmas. Bummer!

Both the US and the UK will have to wait until next year to get the XpressMusic phone. However, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Russia, Indonesia, India, Spain and the United Arab Emirates will be getting the device this year.

The Christmas season is always the prime period for handset sales. Missing it this year will greatly reduce sales of this Nokia offering. Nokia is saying the delay is due to problems with “network-specific customization.” Whatever the reason, this isn’t good for Nokia and it’s a bummer for all of us who were eager to get our hands on it.
