Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte Announced

The Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte was announced today and it offers up something new to the table by means of its unique materials. The phone is made from carbon fibre–which is very light and strong–titanium, polished glass and stainless steel.

The Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte has several unique features that set it apart, aside from the carbon fibre casing. One such feature is called tap-for-time, which allows you to tap the steel surface below the display twice in order to show the time on the screen. The background images on your screen can also change throughout the day and you can even turn the phone screen-side down to mute incoming calls.

Additional features include 3G, a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera, OLED display, 4 GB memory, anti-fingerprint coating and an all-in-one microUSB connector. Several accessories are available as well including a Bluetooth touch-sensitive volume control headset, a desk stand and a leather carrying case. Expect to see the Carbon Arte in the 3rd quarter of 2008 with a price tag of EUR 1,100 which is equal to about $1,600.
