Mobile phone maker extraordinaire Nokia has announced that it has purchased Dopplr. Dopplr is a privately held mobile service provider for international travelers. The company had seven employees with offices in London and Helsinki.
Nokia and Dopplr say that the purchase will not change the Dopplr service or platforms where Dopplr is integrated. The Dopplr service lets members share personal and business travel plans privately within their networks.
The user can then highlight interesting places to stay, eat, and explore in different cities around the world. The terms of the deal and whether or not the purchase will need to pass any regulatory steps were not disclosed.
