More and more smartphones are getting GPS as standard, but the majority of handsets still don’t feature the satellite technology yet are capable of running suitable direction software. For just such users, Nokia has developed the LD-4W: a Bluetooth-enabled GPS fob that measures just 3.26 x 1.45 x 0.3 inches yet still packs a SirfStar III-LT chipset. Small enough to hang from a keychain and also shipped with a belt clip and suction window-cradle; phone Arena took a look at the LD-4W and came away impressed.

Cold-start satellite locks are achieved in just one minute, and warm reacquisition takes a mere 5 seconds. Nokia claim the LD-4W’s rechargeable battery is good for ten hours of continuous use or four days of standby. It appears to be retailing from $130 upward online.
