Nokia Maps is a very useful application that many Nokia devices currently have. It has been in what seems to be a perpetual beta state, but now it has finally made it into a final form. Nokia Maps 2.0 is now available, and it will run on most Nokia devices, including Nseries, Eseries, Navigator series, and even a few of the Classic models.

As you can see, it now says simply ‘Maps’ as opposed to ‘Nokia Maps’. I busted out my N81 to test the new version. The functionality is about the same, but the interface is very different. It has a new color scheme, and even a new menu interface. It had a much easier time switching access points for some reason. Either way, that is always for the better.
Overall the update is very functional. You can get the new version of Nokia Maps from here. All you have to do is download the file, and double click on it while your device is connected to the computer. Assuming you have your PC Suite software installed correctly, you will be prompted to finish installing from the device. Make sure you have enough memory for the new application, which ways in at about 3MB.
