Nokia Messaging for the 5800 is in open beta!

I have been using Nokia Messaging for my N78, but now I will try to use the Nokia’s push mail client on my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music.  Nokia Betalabs today announced the prerelease client of Nokia Messaging for S60 5.0 devices. The final release for the 5800 will be coming next month via the Nokia Messaging site.

Its specific features including:

  • Even easier program navigation with support for ‘tap & hold’ contextual functionality.
  • The client is completely fingertip-operated, no stylus required.
  • Functions both in landscape and portrait views.
  • Message previews in the inbox view.
  • Displays address book contact photos in messages.

If you already have prerelease, it’s the same client. “As this is a prelease you must pay careful attention to the installation instructions. We are putting this client out to begin to gather feedback for the next version of the S60 5.0 client: don’t expect changes between this client and the final release for everyone in May,” as Davis Fields from Nokia Messaging Team wrote.
