We knew Nokia was prepping a slick black version of their N82 cellphone – in fact we saw pics of it in the wild last month – but the Finnish company has finally announced it officially. Of course, aside from a different colour casing, the handset itself is exactly the same as the silver N82: that means HSDPA, WiFi, A-GPS and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, a Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss optics.

Thankfully Nokia haven’t missed the opportunity to slot their new cellphone into its own little niche, and so they accompanied the announcement with the revelation that “the Nokia N82 is made for storytelling”:
“As one of Nokia’s leading-edge connected camera, the Nokia N82 in black captures people’s journeys and discoveries. With built-in A-GPS it even helps people to find new places by pairing ‘contextual’ information with a wide array of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and HSDPA. We make it easy for consumers to quickly share those moments as they happen” Juha Kokkonen, Director for Nokia Nseries devices
It’s a relief, really; I was getting so tired of sharing moments days after they’d taken place. I can expect instantly shared moments within a couple of weeks, as Nokia are promising that the N82 Black is imminent; it’ll retail for around €400 ($631) before tax and subsidies.
