Nokia has now started shipping its much anticipated flagship phone, the Nokia N96, to the US. The N96 has a powerhouse of entertainment features including a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and N-Gage gaming on a beautiful 2.8 inch display. The Nokia N96 comes with 16GB internal memory with the option to expand to 24GB via microSD card.
The Nokia N96 has the ability to store up to 40 hours of video transferred either from a computer through UBS 2.0 or online with WLAN and HSDPA support. The N96 supports many of the most common video files such as Flash Video, Windows Media Video and MPEG-4. One feature that makes this phone perfect for watching video is the built-in 3D stereo speakers and the “kickstand†on the back, which allows for hands free viewing.
Vice President of Sales, Open Markets, Nokia Americas says, “The Nokia N96 offers the best of mobile entertainment, blending phone and multimedia options seamlessly with the unique Nokia Nseries dual slider – a great way to discover and share your favorite moments. Watch video, take high quality photos and geotag them to specific locations or directly upload them online via the fast Internet connection – the Nokia N96 takes mobile entertainment and communication to the next level,”
As we have seen in the Nokia N95, the N96 will also capture video as a clear 30 frames per second. The 5-megapixel camera takes very clear, defined pictures with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash. The N96 offers turn-by-turn navigation with enhanced easy-to-use maps including satellite view. The Nokia N96 is now available through a number of independent retailers as well as at Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago.
