As our economy has fallen on hard times, it seems Nokia is feeling the pinch as well. The company released their third quarter figures today and sales were down, down, down.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. After all, Nokia did say they expected a slow third quarter. However, it did lose a substantial amount of market share, falling from 40% down to 38%. Even so, they did not lose their footing in the U.S. market.
But things are looking up for Nokia. The 5800 XpressMusic is slated for release within the next couple of months, which will no doubt boost their standings quite a bit since it will be their first handset to be S60 and feature a touchscreen. An NSeries touchscreen phone is expected to be announced before the year is out, as well.
