Wireless providers are rushing to provide 4G services and support in America and abroad. LTE and WiMax are fighting it out to be the network of choice for providers. Sprint and Clearwire have bet on WiMax for the U.S., but all other wireless firms are going with LTE for 4G networks.

Nokia Siemens is talking about the auction it will be part of to acquire the LTE and CDMA assets of Nortel from the bankruptcy courts handling the auction. Nokia Siemens says that it will build on its momentum in the U.S. to support its progress in the last 18 months.
“Our final offer for Nortel’s assets represented a fair price, and we did not enter this process with a win-at-any-cost mindset,” said Bosco Novak, Chief Markets Operations Officer, Nokia Siemens Networks. “Ours was an opportunistic bid aimed at supporting the great progress we’ve made in North America in the past 18 months, and we are very confident that momentum will continue to grow.”
