According to Nokia’s official ‘See Into S60‘ blog, the company will be showing their new Touch UI interface at the Mobile World Congress (formerly called 3GSM) trade show in Barcelona this month. Touch UI is the Finnish company’s retort to Apple’s iPhone, a touchscreen and gesture-based update to the venerable S60 OS that includes Haptikos haptic feedback.
“While the S60 design is kept familiar and consistent S60 renews and innovates to fill different user needs and provides alternatives for developers, manufacturers and Operators to design new type of applications, mobile devices and services. Now S60 expands the UI offering by Touch UI with tactile feedback to create new type of devices and applications and by UI Accelerator Toolkit to create graphically stunning applications” S60 blog
Nokia will also be demonstrating their advanced sensors and sensor framework, a new browser compatible with Flash video, their multi-platform developer tools and online community services.
PHONE Magazine will be at Mobile World Congress, so expect to hear all about S60 Touch UI this month!
