While NTT DoCoMo may be kicking their own OS out of bed and moving to Google’s Android, that’s not going to happen until 2010 and, before then, buyers will have the opportunity to pick up a new Windows Mobile handset. Having announced its development last August, the Fujitsu-made FOMA F1100 slider is now available complete with WM6.0, WiFi a/b/g and 3.6Mbps HSDPA. It may lack a full keyboard, but Fujitsu have made up for it with fingerprint biometrics, Bluetooth 2.0 and a digital camera.

At 16.9mm it’s not the thickest handset around, but nor is it the thinnest; still, it’s fine for a Windows Mobile smartphone. Dedicated security buttons on the side lock and initiate unlock of the F1100, and Fujitsu apparently preload the Opera Mobile browser just in case you hate Internet Explorer Mobile. It’ll also work as a WiFi VoIP handset via NTT DoCoMo’s PASSAGE DUPLE service or the business mopera IP Centrex service.
