Only 18% of Americans have ever used text messaging

It turns out all those concerns about everyone texting while they’re driving might be a bit skewed. A whopping 82% of Americans have never even created a text message.

Of the 18%, 3% have used it monthly or even less than that. Whereas 15% of that number use it every week or more. The research comes from the research firm Ipsos MediaCT.

They actually polled individuals in a variety of countries. Their general conclusion is that those that are using it, are using it frequently. However, the non-tech savvy aren’t likely to mess with it.
