Many mobile phone users opt to encase their sexy new smartphone inside a case of some sort to protect it. We may prefer to have our device naked so we can ogle its curves, but the reality is that we don’t want to break our devices. OtterBox has announced a new case for the Blackberry Curve 8520 and the Bold.

The case is the Commuter series and it offers three different layers of protection. The first layer is a self-adhesive thin film cover that protects the screen from scratches. The second layer is a silicone mid-layer that wraps around the smartphone to reduce impacts.

The final layer is a custom molded polycarbonate shell that hugs the silicone liner. The case doesn’t block any of the ports or buttons on the phone. The cases are available now for $34.95.
