Is this the Palm Pre spotted in San Francisco? What really made that guy on the right hand side pull such a ridiculous face?

The Pre is set for release in the early half of 2009 so the idea that models are already out there is possible. A number of websites report and suggest a confirmation that these are real photos with the real phone including Boy Genius Report and Bananachucks.

The identity of the two people in the photo (the ones holding the phones), are unknown. Given the angle of the phones and the position of the guy on the right, he was either busting some serious moves or falling over. The phones were spotted during the annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel Race.
