Smartphone users are a hard to please lot. Some that use an iPhone that only offers a virtual keyboard want a physical keyboard. Those using a device like the Pre with a real keyboard only want a virtual keyboard.

The iPhone won’t be getting a real keyboard anytime soon, but the Pre can get a virtual keyboard if you are willing to do the install. Preware.org and WebOS internals have teamed up for a virtual keyboard app that installs the keyboard.

The keyboard is said to work ok, but has a few kinks that need to be worked out. You can double tap the gesture area to get the cursor on screen.
