Palm to open doors of developer program in December

Palm has announced that starting in December it will be opening the doors to its developer program. The developer program will allow dev groups to design and sell applications for the Palm line of webOS devices.

Palm announced the developer program in August and invited developers to begin submitting paid for apps for consideration for inclusion in the store. More details of the program are now available and the ecommerce program went live today.

Under the program, developers will be able to sell apps with a 70/30 split of gross revenues after taxes. The program requires a $99 annual fee by developers to participate and the devs have two distribution methods to choose from. Apps can be distributed on the web or can be added to the on-device app catalog. Each app submitted to the on-device app catalog will require a $50 application fee.
