After a few slip ups and leaked info, Palm has finally officially announced the Treo Pro. This smartphone has Windows Mobile 6.1, quadband GSM and a 320 x 320 touchscreen that is flush-fitted.

Other features for this undoubtedly smart smartphone include WiFi b/g, UMTS (triband), Bluetooth and GPS. You can also expect a microSDHC card slot that supports cards up to 32GB, 256MB ROM and 128MB RAM. A 2-megapixel camera is also included, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB connector.

The Treo Pro will become available in September in the UK, which will be selling the device for free to 399 EUR from Vodafone and O2, and Australia, which will offer the phone for free from Telstra. This smartphone will be unlocked in the US and available this fall, meaning you can plug in your existing SIM card without having to start up a new contract. US suggested retail price is $549.
