After a week of speculation and leaked photos, Palm have officially confirmed the Treo Pro smartphone. This morning the company released two press photos of the handset, together with a short video of the Pro in action. However there are still no official specifications.
That could mean that it’s a fair assumption that the leaked specifications are accurate. The Palm Treo Pro is believed to be a 3G HSDPA device running Windows Mobile 6.1 on a 400MHz processor. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS, with Palm’s recent habit of including “one touch” hardware wireless controls.
Another improvement is the choice of microUSB, rather than Palm’s traditional proprietary connector, and a 3.5mm headphone socket. The 320 x 320 touchscreen is flush-fitting, rather than inset as with recent Palm handsets. No word on price or availability however.
