This, forgive me, bland candybar might be Philips’ first foray back into the Western European market, after pulling out to concentrate on handsets for Asia.  The Philips 192 is intended to be a very basic, entry-level phone - and with the sub-€40 ($59) price to match.

Specs are so anaemic you’d worry it might pass out, with dual-band GSM (900/1800), a small 128 x 128 65k colour CSTN display, and no luxuries like cameras or high-speed music downloads.  What that does get you is a demure 650mAh battery that will last up to ten days on standby, a fanny-pack friendly 59.7g weight, and dimensions of 104.5 × 45 x 12.8mm.

The 192 will apparently first launch in Portugal.
