Vincent is at the GigaOm Mobilize conference today in San Francisco, and he’s sending back video from the event.  Mobilize is all about driving mobile web development - whether from a hardware, software or services standpoint - and promises to cover everything from WiMAX through economics to today’s hot-topic, location-based services.

Om Malik’s opening remarks:

In this video, JumpTap’s Paran Johar begins discussion on the importance of introducing location-aware functionality to mobile advertizing and other services.  The concept is that, unlike say in traditional TV advertizing, where the viewer sees the advert and the goes out to find the product, mobile adverts must take advantage of the fact that the buyer is already out.  Part of that is making the content specific to where they are, otherwise it - and the adverts that follow it - will be dismissed as noise.

You can follow all of Vincent’s video - which he’s streaming via Qik on a jailbroken iPhone 3G and Nokia N95 - at http://qik.com/android.  We’ll also be flagging up particularly interesting news throughout the day.
