This week in mobile has been interesting for us phone fanatics. First off, we’ve seen plenty of rumors involving 3G. We learned that the 3G iPhone will finally be announced at WWDC; it’s expected that Steve Jobs will announce it during his keynote address. The device is expected to launch at the end of June, near the one year anniversary of the launch of the original iPhone.

The rumors about 3G do not end at the iPhone, not this week. Yet again, there are more rumors of T-Mobile’s imminent 3G launch, in light of the FCC leak of yet another 3G phone on T-Mobile. The phone is a Nokia, and it supports WiFi for use with T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home service. The launch date of the phone is not clear. Unfortunately, the launch date for T-Mobile’s 3G is still not set. Is it close? You will know when we do.

Exciting news for fans of Helio, the MVNO will now start allowing allowing their subscribers to have their Gmail account mail pushed to them, in fact any IMAP or POP3 account can be used. This ability has been long expected, ever since Helio started allowing subscribers Helio Mail, Yahoo, Windows Live and AOL accounts to be pushed to their device.

Alltel subscribers had something to get excited about this week, too. Subscribers using the popular Windows Mobile-powered HTC Touch anyway found they could upgrade to EV-DO Rev. A. HTC and Alltel have made the new ROM available to customers immediately.

Alltel was not the only carrier that got a little HTC love this week. It was outed that two high end HTC phones are coming to Sprint later in the year. Both devices enjoy features such as a VGA touch screen and 3 megapixel camera. Both are expected to be running Windows Mobile 6.1. The devices will launch in September and November.
