We started off this week with the leak of the BlackBerry Storm 4.7.0.85 firmware. It seems RIM just can’t seem to keep these updates from getting out to the public before the official release. BlackBerry Storm also received the YouTube client, which should have been available since the release of the smartphone.

The Samsung C3110 made its way through the FCC without a snag. Though there is not too much information on this particular handset, we do know it has Bluetooth and the 3G band. Another handset that finally made its way though the FCC is the NAM 3G Samsung i8510 INNOV8. Soon people in the US will be able to pick up this amazing phone without the lack of 3G connectivity. Verizon Wireless also launched their TeleNav GPS Navigator for turn-by-turn navigation services for handsets such as the BlackBerry Storm. Verizon is giving users a 30 day trial after which the service will cost users $9.99 a month.
LG is going to be showing off their new GD910 wristwatch phone complete with forward facing camera. With this 1.43-inch touchscreen you will get access to 3G data as well as TTS (text to speech). T-Mobile’s January and February roadmap leaked onto the net revealing a handful of upcoming devices. Some of the handsets include the Nokia 7510, Samsung Memoir and the Motorola Renew.
HTC has a firm belief that Google and T-Mobile will adopt the recent cupcake Android update for the T-Mobile G1. Although HTC has no say in what goes into the updates, they believe that the virtual keyboard is a very important thing to customers. T-Mobile’s new Motorola Renew low-end phone is rumored to be an eco friendly device with a lower impact on the environment. Users who have phones running Symbian S60 versions 2.6 – 3.1 may be affected by an odd messaging bug. When a certain kind of message comes in the handset will silently stop receiving text messages until it is reset. Though the bug is rarely triggered, it is very simple to do.
