There was lots of news covered this week here on PhoneMag, so let’s get right to it. For starters, the brand new line of Sony Walkmans were leaked in New Zealand, plus we saw the announcement of the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte, which is made from carbon fibre and offers a slick yet sustainable mobile device. The LG Invision was also announced this week from AT&T which will feature mobile video. The Motorola Q9h WM6.1 silver smartphone has also started showing up at AT&T stores this week.

Several products were also leaked this week including the BlackBerry 8220 and 8210 and we got a sneak peek at the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 which drew several comparisons to the HTC Touch Pro. The Palm Treo Pro was also leaked with a video demo, then it was officially announced and we got a good look at it with an unboxing video.

Speaking of unboxing videos, the Samsung Omnia i900 had a rather comical unboxing video that pokes fun at the enthusiastic reveal vids. We also saw the release of Android SDK v0.9, bringing us closer to an official Android release. The TM506 Clamshell was also confirmed by both Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile.

Other phone business news hit PhoneMag this week. For instance, the FCC approved the HTC Dream and Cox Communications is planning a wireless service that will use 700MHz spectrum. Toward the end of the week, Virgin Mobile’s acquisition of Helio was made official.
