Mobile phone news was varied this week as Sprint seemed to have their hands in everything and a few cool prototypes caught our eyes.

We’ll start with Motorola, which has the Z10 that actually bends, even though the design innovation is all it really has going for it. There’s also the MOTOACTV W450, which will be making an appearance on T-Mobile.

The Sony S-Series Walkman was also announced, which has noise cancellation and is a stylish way to keep your media with you. Plus the Nokia N85 and N79 were confirmed and we got word that the N96 will be coming to America in Q4 of 2008.

On a somewhat strange note, it turns out the BlackBerry Storm 9530 is actually the exact same phone as the BlackBerry Thunder. The only difference? The carriers they’ll be distributed on. We also got a look at the BlackBerry Bold by means of an unboxing.

As we approach the release of the first phone to have Android, more and more glimpses of the HTC Dream are popping up. We got our hands on some live photos of the T-Mobile G1 and we even saw some drawings of the phone, which helped us honed in on the specs. The BlueAnt V1 Voice Control Headset also hopped across PhoneMag this week, with an extensive review of the device which offers voice activation technology.

A few prototype phones were of interest as well, with the KDDI Ply mimicking plywood while packing in multiple features and the Tatung VoIP phone is smooth, sleek and totally stylish.

But Sprint dominated our pages this week. First, we found out the launch of the Touch Diamond was pushed back and then we got word Sprint’s 4G WiMax will be coming this fall, providing geobrowsing options for several local cities. We found out the Samsung Instinct is now available from RadioShack starting this Labor Day weekend, as well.

The HTC Touch Diamond will also be launching on Sprint very soon. Sometime in September is the latest buzz and we also got release dates and pricing for the Diamond and the Touch Pro, the latter of which will be released on October 19th according to a supposedly leaked document.
